Breaking News: Brodeur Out 3-4 Months

Martin Brodeur, who missed Monday night's game due to a bruised elbow suffered in the Devils previous game, will have surgery on his left elbow Thursday. This will cause Brodeur to miss the next three to four months. This news is heart-breaking to all New Jersey Devils fans. Brodeur is currently eight wins away from the all-time wins record held by Patrick Roy. He is also only five shutouts away from Terry Sawchuck's record. This devastating news comes after a 2-0 loss the Devils sufficed last night.

The Devils will count on Kevin Weekes, who allowed two goals on thirty shots last night taking the loss. Weekes has had limited playing time this season, but has a 2.00 GAA and a .933 save percentage in two games. He had a 2.97 GAA last season, along with a .894 save percentage in nine games. Scott Clemmensen, who was called up for last night's game, will be the Devils' back-up while Brodeur is out. The Devils are currently second place in the Atlantic Division.
